Hi Friends!
Whoa, the month of April is about to wrap and that means we’re well into Q2 and Spring is ready to, well, spring. 😲
Time is flying so here is a quick reminder about your PR goals…
Spring means that if you’re a thought leader or business that has products or services aimed at mothers (Mother’s Day is almost here), outdoor activities, travel, or wellness, then this is the perfect time to pitch yourself to media and get in front of your target audience.
Now is also a great time to get ready for summer-related pitches and fall conference season. If you have a talk to pitch, get it together now! Fall conference speaker deadlines are happening now or very soon.
Ok, let's get to two podcast opportunities.
Smooches 💋

P.S. Don’t forget to get your podcast on the Podcast Guest Connect list!
🎧Podcast: La Vida Más Chévere: Through the Childfree Lens
Description: A podcast for all childfree, Spanglish-speaking Latines y Latinas to find their confidence—su confianza—by overcoming cultural roadblocks and imposter syndrome. Let's question the societal norms we hold about everything we've been taught (like being childfree!) without disrespecting nuestros ancestros. Because if we can learn to collectively get past the BS de siguiendo calladitas, people pleasing, and actually create healthy boundaries (like choosing NOT to have children), wouldn’t that be rad?
Target Audience: Childfree Latinas (and allies)
Guest(s) They Are Looking For: WoC in the childfree space, also tackling imposter syndrome
Pitch Instructions: The pitch must speak directly to why this would benefit the childfree Latina and Latiné experience, especially if the guest being pitched is neither Latina nor childfree. Non-Latinos and non-childfree people will be considered but not preferred. We do not use the term "Latinx" unless the guest explicitly identifies themselves as Latinx. A response will take up to 2 weeks. If no response has been given within 2 weeks (10 business days), a follow-up is encouraged.
Contact: Send emails to hola@pauletteerato.com
Stats/Audience Insights: Small but engaged audience of approximately 2000 listeners and followers.
🎧Podcast: Reframables
Description: Conversations that make us better. From two sisters looking for fresh perspectives.
Target Audience: 35-45-year-old women
Topic(s)/Guest(s) They Are Looking For: Wellness, fresh perspectives of all kinds, academics, philosophers, and artists.
Pitch Instructions: We are looking for guests that have a unique angle on a topic, with whom we can "reframe" something for our listeners. We have featured a broad array of conversations so it's more the angle than the topic itself. If there's a tie-in to the community--all the better. Please send us a short pitch along with your bio so we know why you're the best person to talk to about this topic. We will respond within a week.
Contact: Send an email to producer@ceresproductions.ca
Stats/Audience Insights: Growing slowly but steadily on our platforms which include IG, TikTok, and Twitter.
💡 5 Tips For A Successful Pitch Follow-up
If you’re a business owner trying to get the word out about your brand, pitching to media writers and journalists is a great way to generate buzz and get your story out there. But what happens after you hit "send" on that email? Following up is key to securing placements, but it can be intimidating.
Here are 5 tips for successfully following up on your pitch and building media relationships:
1. Manage your fear: It's normal to be nervous about following up, but keep in mind that the key goal of any good pitch is to help, not sell. Think of your pitch as an opportunity to provide assistance to the journalist. By doing this, you're delivering value to your business and the journalist.
2. Nail the timing: Timing is crucial and journalists can get hundreds of pitches per day. So follow-up is a ball in your court. I recommend 48 hours of the initial pitch and then again seven-eight days business days later if you haven't received a response. Don't just copy and paste your initial pitch - refresh your pitch and subject line.
3. Use Urgency: If a journalist was initially receptive but has since gone silent, try using urgency to regain interest. This can include phrases like "deadline approaching" or "time-sensitive opportunity" to create a sense of urgency and remind them of the value of your pitch.
4. Use technology: Don’t be afraid of A.I., instead learn how to use it to be more efficient. One tool I’m using consistently is ChatGPT, which can suggest alternative phrasing for your pitch and even act as a research assistant. Of course, everything ChatGPT provides must be fact-checked and reviewed. Plus, it’s not a substitute for an actual human who understands nuance and context. It’s not going to do a great job of providing the substance, style, and tone that journalists need. But, it can provide you with a starting point when you’re stuck and help you get your creative juices flowing. It’s a tool, not a crutch.
5. Always build relationships: Follow-up success as an opportunity to build relationships with journalists. By demonstrating professionalism and a commitment to providing value, you'll establish yourself as a trusted resource and increase your chances of securing future placements.
Bonus tip: Consider offering exclusive content or an interview opportunity to the journalist to make the pitch more attractive.
